Knowing nothing much about them, I would like to know how Citizen watches fit into the big scheme of things.  Are they a quality product?  Are they durable?  My watch history has been with old Boliva models, Seiko (quartz and automatic) and the good old Timex digitals.

I'm considering one of the Citizen titanium models or one of the two-tone stainless models.  Are there things that I need to know about these watches.  Do they use metal or plastic gears?

Thanks

Titanium

IMO fantastic brand...I own three eco drives, a nighthawk, a calibre, and a grand complication.

The grand complication series are outstanding!!! You will find that most users on this forum will vouch for citizen putting out a quality product at sometimes fabulous prices!

Fantastic watches, I have 2 eco-drives and they work great. great bang for your buck. I have no clue what kind of gears they have, here is a pic of my watch that was a everyday beater for about 4 years now, it still keeps great time.

Citizen makes damn good watches, in all price ranges.

And the ECO-DRIVES, are pretty damn good movements, having the battery being charged by natural or indoor light.

I would think you would be very happy with a Citizen purchase.

I own 2 Eco-drives and IMO they are very accurate, great looking, solid performing watches that should give you years of dependable service. Don't hesitate to get one.

Fuelled by light any light

A watch that never needs a battery
It run on light and it will store engery in it cell when the room too dark or your shirt and jacket covers your wrist

if you put the watch in a draw it will still work for in power saving mode for up to 3 years and within a few seconds show the correct time and date after you take it out

Some models have atomic time keeping. I like my watch to show the correct time

It will even correct daylight saving time and time zone if you travel. it covers Japan Western Europe and USA special model also include China

Have look at the light weight super titanium models if your budget will allow

( check spec before buying best place to look is amazon web pages/ reviews)

kind regards

Puddy

I agree 100%

My 3 eco drives have been the best quartz based watches that I have ever owned. :l

Eco-drive is the Citizen brand's solar power technology.  It is a quartz based movement that is powered by light.  The watch will continue to run for months when fully charged.

In short, its quartz accuracy with none of the hassles of changing a battery.  :)
