I was reading a watch magazine at Barnes and Noble yesterday afternoon and saw that Citizen Watch Group has bought into the Swiss market. Has anyone else read about this?? Just wondering. The article was very informative and it sounds like this is a HUGE move for the Japenese watch makers. I think its pretty cool myself.

I'm not sure what you mean by bought into the Swiss market.  On January 10, 2008, Citizen bought the Bulova Watch Company for $250 million.  Currently Bulova designs, manufactures, and markets several different brands, including: the signature "Bulova", the affordable "Caravelle", the dressy/formal Swiss-made "Wittnauer Swiss", the very popular "Marine Star", and the sportier Swiss-made "Accutron".
So they have been into the Swiss market since 2008.

I think that it is a sign of the times there are other Swiss Companies owned by Japanese concerns. The made in Swiss label is important to some.

Yes...I understand that. But, they actually purchased a Swiss company, just recently, that makes movements. I wish I could remember the name. I will probably have to buy the magazine LOL. They spent a huge amount of money. So, they will be producing more "Swiss Made" watches not just the Accutron brand. Interesting, but this means that the prices will go way up. Don't you think??
