Name of Reviewer: James (TVDinner) Name of person who took pictures in review : James (TVDinner) Watch Name / Model Being Reviewed / Brand : Prometheus Signatura Day/Date - White Dial Watch was donated for review from Prometheus Company Info: Web site - http://prometheuswatch.com/ Facebook link - http://www.facebook.com/prometheuswatchcompany Prometheus Online Contact Form : http://prometheuswatch.com/en/contact-us/contact-us.html Links To Prometheus Manta Ray models on Prometheus Website: http://prometheuswatch.com/en/collection.html?page=shop.browse&category_id=19 Prometheus Signatura Description (from Prometheus Site): The Prometheus Signatura watch collection represents Prometheus Watch Company interpretation of what a dress watch has to be. A minimalist design with attention to details. The dial of the Prometheus Signatura watch collection is made of enamel bringing out a classical look and easiness of reading dial. The Swiss Made Prometheus Signatura Day/Date automatic watch version is powered by a Sellita SW220 movement and is decorated with a custom made rotor. Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White Specs (from Prometheus Site): 316L stainless steel case 316L stainless steel bracelet with screw links case size: 42 mm width case height: 10.90 mm lug width: 22 mm water resistance: 50 meters or 5 ATM sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating inside display caseback with sapphire crystal custom made rotor enamel dial blue hands Automatic movement Sellita SW220 Swiss Made Two Years Warranty Price per Unit (piece): Sales Price: €470.69 (approximately USD630.72) VAT sales tax included €389.00 (approximately USD521.26) Price valid outside European Uni Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: First Impression: WHITE. That is what I first thought when opening the leather travel watch box the watch arrives in. The dial is white. CLASSY, but also sporty. Initially I was drawn to the contrasting links (brushed vs polished) of the bracelet, the large dial opening, and curvature of the lugs - all giving the watch a very sporty feel. But at the same time the slim case height and contrasting brushed and polished sides gives the watch a very classy impression right out of the box. Historically this is not a style of watch that would be something that attracts me. But in this case there is a bracelet available as a standard feature and the styling gives it a nice combo feel between the dive watches out there and dressier watches. The listed size is also deceiving since the crystal opening is so large and the complete lack of a bezel on the watch. Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Packaging: The Prometheus Signatura arrives in a leather travel case that zippers all the way around. As I have posted before I really am a fan of any brand that is creative with how they send/present their watches. Prometheus has always done a good job sending out a variety of useful travel cases with their watches. This is much much better in my opinion then a standard watch box and you can absolutely use this case when traveling. Nice travel case. ![]() ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Right Out of The Case First View As mentioned above the dial is about as white and white can get. The crystal is perfectly clear to where you almost do not know it is there. The blue hands and black markers are each to read, as is the day/date window. The polished and brushed surfaces are tastefully done and add to the overall impression of the watch. ![]() While the watch is metal throughout it is very light on the wrist, while maintaining a good presence on your arm. ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Crown Side: Combination of brushed and polished edges. Nice curvature of the lugs as you can see below. ![]() As you can see the crown is high polish and you can clearly see me taking the picture in the tiny top circle of the crown. ![]() ![]() Crown has ridges and is easy to grasp. It does not screw down. ![]() Close up view of the crown ![]() Crown measurement width ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Non Crown Side: Very similar to the crown side. combination of brushed side and polished edges. Crystal is not domed and sits flat. ![]() What I really like is that the side is not completely flat. As you can see below it is flat down the side and then slices in to the case back. This small area is polished and the contrast next to the brushed side is nice looking. I grabbed a bunch of my other watches to compare and most are just one flat side that connects directly to the case back. The additional angled edge of the side of the Signature creates almost a layered 3-D feel/look to the watch case. ![]() Watch sits comfortably on the wrist. As you can see it has a very low profile which easily fits under shirt cuffs. ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Dial, Case, Hands: WHITE, white white. This watch has a white dial, lol. The blue hour, minute and second hands are a metallic blue and come to a sharp point. The elongated second hand reaches almost all the way to the edge of the case. I really like the length of the second hand as is sweeps around the dial. Because there is no bezel and all you see is a very large dial opening, the watch wears (to me) like a 44mm on the wrist. ![]() As listed the watch is 42mm wide from edge to edge ![]() A good view of how far the second hand reaches towards the edge of the case. You can also see the Swiss Made text on the dial. It is EXTREMELY SMALL on the dial and I had to really zoom in. You almost can not see the words at all when you are actually wearing the watch. ![]() Close up of the blue Hour, Minute, and Second hands on the dial. ![]() Date window is extremely easy to read with black text on a white background. A simple thin black line borders the 2 openings. As you can see when viewing these very close up the edges to the openings are slightly beveled giving the date windows additional depth when looking at the dial. ![]() Prometheus name and logo printed on the dial next to the "9" position ![]() One of my favorite features of the entire watch is the raised staggered markers at 5, 10, 20, 25, 35, 40, 50, 55 positions. The markers really look nice on the white background and their raised rectangle shape adds a lot of character to the dial. I also like the contrast of the very straight rectangle markets and date opening right next to the long sharp hour, minute and second hands. This watch is VERY easy to read. For some this will be a big plus. ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Bracelet I love the bracelet with its brushed middle links and polished outer links. Again, this is a dress watch that to me has a sportier feel and is more versatile then traditional "dress watches". A lot of that impression and feel is do to the details like the different finishes and materials used. ![]() Back of the links are brushed and flat. You can also see the screws on either side of the links that are used for this bracelet. ![]() Close up view of how the bracelet attached to the case/lugs The end links are VERY tight against the case and perfectly match up to the case with no gaps or rattle at the lugs/case. ![]() Bracelet tapers from 22mm at the case to 22mm at the clasp as shown below ![]() ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Bracelet & Clasp So this is a dressier watch with a dive watch feel clasp. I like this a lot to be totally honest. The fold over clasp is branded with the brand name and the logo and is also a combination of brushed and polished finishes which matches it to the rest of the bracelet. ![]() Close up of the clasp in the closed position. ![]() Additionally this clasp has a push button locking system giving it additional security on the wrist from opening and falling off. Also this lends it to the "dive watch" feel of the clasp on this dressy style watch. 3 micro adjustments as shown below. ** You can also see the screws for the links in this picture. You need to have the small screw drivers to adjust the bracelet. ![]() Picture of the clasp open and extended. ![]() Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Case Back Prometheus did a good job on the case back in my opinion of offering a lot to look at while NOT overdooing it. Some watches I have seen lately seem to be trying to put detailed drawings on the case back or full novels worth of words, numbers, and other markings. On the Signature the lettering around the exhibition case back is simple, uniform and evenly printed around the opening. ![]() ![]() The exhibition case back features the rotor with the Prometheus name and logo stamped on it which is a nice touch and shows some customization of the movement. The Sellita SW220 movement is attractive to look at and watch move when wound. ![]() Extreme close up of the case back and movement. ![]() Unofficial Movement Testing: Sellita SW220 I timed this watch next to my Atomic G Shock and Citizen Eco Drive (also with Atomic Time Setting). After 1 day it was -2 The average each day was around the same whether I wore it or left it sitting in the watch box This testing was done over 7 days. Prometheus Signatura Day/Date White: Final Thoughts In the past I have primarily purchased only dive watch or pilot watch style timepieces. I really did not have a traditional "dress watch" in my collection. Most of my watch box is filled with heavy watches that feature thick, tall, and sometimes bulky watch cases and designs. My initial reaction to this model when looking at it online was that this was exactly the opposite of what I had been drawn to in the past. But after almost 3 weeks of wearing this watch I can 100% say that I really really like this model from Prometheus. I have to admit that I have been wearing it - A LOT. It just feels good on the wrist and looks awesome. After wearing it for a few days I stopped noticing that it was lighter weight then some of my other watches and it was comparable to when I wear my titanium watches. Also, and this was very surprising to me - my wife LOVES it and has made multiple comments about how nice it looks when I am wearing it. She never comments about any of my watches and this was a first. This watch is smaller then the other watches I own that are typically 44-45mm in size, but as mentioned above, it wears larger and more like a 44mm. Thanks again to Prometheus for making this watch available for review for Watch Freeks. ![]()

Excellent review, James, and great pics. Where did you get those calipers. I'm not familiar with them, and I've seen some on the net ranging from $15 to $90.

Thanks for another great review! This watch is everything I like about watches! The color, style, simplicity and everything including the band which has a simple, yet very secure functionality all add up to a watch that will be in my wish list and will hopefully end up in my collection. I can't give a watch a better welcome than that! Thanks again!
