With the movement being used I'd prefer solid caseback. IMO The solid caseback will add to the toolish nature and assume it would also improve anti-magnetic properties.

To be honest with you, I would also prefer a (nicely engraved) solid caseback as well... Any idea as to what it may look like?

As much as I like exhibition casebacks, I too think a nicely engraved solid caseback would be perfect especially if it will keep overhead down, but if you decide to make the exhibition casebacks, I probably will choose that.:b

Honestly if the mvt is a plain[Brice] /stock Seiko - not decorated or without a custom rotor or even logo on the rotor - then I don't see the point of adding complexity and possibly cost [Brice] (and delays?) at this stage espcially for such a toolish diver. I think a nice solid caseback would be cool, with nice art work like Chris does at Bali Ha'I or Keith did with the Boschett Harpoon....
I have nothin against the mvt, I quite like it actually but I think we can agree it's nothing special to look at. An exhibition case back to me is like an unecessary HEV on some divers... Just added complexity, something else to worry about... For those who'll use this as a tool diver or for outdoor activity. Sometimes simple is better.

I'd go with a solid, engraved caseback, preferably with the image of a naked lady.

The K500 will deliver on a solid caseback with a custom engraving that will be unveiled on our next update.

Vic posted on WUS and while he didn't get into specifics, he seemed to suggest that the watches will be ready sooner than expected. I'm all set to do the pee-pee dance.

We are very excited to announce that the K500's have arrived at Lüm-Tec Headquarters and Chris and his team have begun testing and final assembly of the Premier Edition K500. We will be sending out the final invoices early next week to pre-sale customers.

Here are some images of initial testing and assembly of the production pieces. If anyone is interested The watch featured in the photos, K500 serial #390 in full PVD is still available ;)
