Interested to see what they will look like.

Yes, all our three dials have a 3D profile. Normal dials have a thickness of 0.40mm, but ours have a thickness of 0.80mm. New renderings will be made soon to show the sandwich dials more clearly.

Wonder if that will be $250 or $999? Hopefully Clemons will post here soon with an update on the new model.

Hi James,

THANK YOU very much for posting our H2O ORCA news! I just saw the news is spread around the WF and the world. I´m looking forward to all of your comments!

I hope you all like at least something we have prepared the last months. :-) We have listened carefully to the voice of the forums and our customers and we summarized the required changes for our new H2O ORCA series to: THINNER & SHORTER & HARDER

The outcome are 5 different watch cases which could be euipped with different inner cases and bezel. The inner and outer case could be changed by the customer even after purchase.

Let´s make a comparison against the Kalmar:

                    KALMAR                ORCA
Length:        59mm                   51-54mm
Height:         17.60mm              13.50mm

So at least all cases are achieving this goal. We also changed to HARDENED 316L for the outer case material. The hardeneing will be done in GERMANY by the market leader for this process. This company is used by MANY other watch companies as well.

The price will be short below the 4-digits, as the concept is not compareable to anything else in the market. On the other side the additional cases will priced very aggressive to enable everybody to really take advantage of the inner&outer case system. This will be the long-term system for H2O and we will, of course, extend the range even further. :-)

I don´t want to get my post looking like a brochure text, but when you work months on the concept and design you really get caught by it. :-)

Let me know your impressions!

Greetings to all WF out there!

Clemens

Love it. Love it....

Many of them remind me of Seiko Marine Master 300 and SpringDrive Diver.

I really like this watch a lot. And will pre-order one as long as the deposit is not large. My biggest concern is that from how I read everything the pre-order will happen prior to the prototype being built (Clemens please correct me if I am wrong)and considering how advanced the engineering is I would rather see a prototype prior to putting down say 50%. I know Clemens is one the best vendors out there and I trust him so I am probably worried about nothing.....

Hello Rich, we haven´t finally decided, when we will open the pre-order. If we should open the pre-order in April this would allow to adjust the outer case qty to meet your demand. Of course we will offer a really cool benefit during pre-order and also the hardening will be included into the pre-order price.

I would like to add to the renderings a FIRST impression of our bracelet clasp and it´s decoration. This is not the final clasp as we will get bevelling on the clasp sides and also some internal improvements of the mechanism.

- Hardened SS 316L with micro-adjustment / 24mm
- Clasp will be brushed outside and nearly fully decorated with perlage from the inside  :-)
- Improved mechanism to prevent the clasp from unwanted opening
- The clasp sides will be bevelled to be weared more comfortably

This clasp is a custom and improved version for H2O only.

Below you could get a first impression of the perlage of the clasp inside. Important: This is a pure sample to demonstrate the perlage and without the bevelling on the sides! :-)

Moving pictures are maybe more interesting than still images. Therefore we have published today two new 360° turntable videos of the H2O ORCA DIVE and H2O ORCA CLASSIC case on Oceanictime. You could raise the video resolution up to 720p to see more details.

I hope you like what you see! .-)

Today we received 20 strap samples for our H2O ORCA series.

The leather was purchased by myself in Hamburg, Germany, after more than 4 hours of touching hundreds or even thousands of different calf skins. Fortunately the biggest leather skin wholesaler is just 50 km away from our office and touching the leather makes a big difference instead of just comparing images.

Unfortunately the stud is not as I was planning. It should have been a more round vintage version, stamped wave and etched to look at least a 100 years old. We are far away from this goal. Anyway, this might get changed if we should decide to go with a stud attached version.

Two leather skins - the dark brown vintage/used leather strap and the light brown leather strap - can´t be used as a standard strap as their skins were way too small! But as we are thinking about an incentive for returning customers from the H2O Kalmar pre-order they might go into production as well.

Dave, I hope there is also one for you inbetween! :-)

Let´s show the straps!

My personal favorite is, of course, the dark brown vintage strap. :-)

Just the straps alone sold me on the watch. Can't wait for the Pre-Order page/email to be up!

IMO honestly, H2O has one of the best "stock" straps or any watch company.

I don´t have that much comparison, but I wear my watches always on leather and I have a great exitement to touch, proof and purchase the best leather I could find in Germany by myself.

In result I could wear exactly the strap I have in my imagination and the "work" done before pays perfectly back. :-)

Clemens,  I just purchased richc1958's H2O Kalmar this past week.  I can't believe that he actually parted with it and that he gave me first dibs on it as well.  I have wanted one for along time now and Rich will verify that I pounced on it in a "New York Second", LOL.   He sent me four straps of yours to go with it, each of which is awesome, IMO.

The Orca, the bracelet and the straps that you have just depicted are over the top as well, IMO.  In short ........................ There is no doubt that when the pre order begins, I'm totally in on this one !!!  How can anyone pass up such a unique timepiece with all'a the features that it possesses.  Great innovation and creativity bro.  Congrats on what you bring to the table for us to drool over.  JMHO.  :)

The H2O KALMAR from Rich is outstanding, I think. You should have many optional accessories with the watch! Enjoy it! :-)

Thank you for your comment about our Kalmar straps. I also think they are really nice, considering they are in the watch box as standard acc. . That´s maybe a watch part where others are saving some bugs, but both together, the case and the strap, are the making the watch. At least that´s my direction to create a watch. :-)

The H2O ORCA should cover everybodies taste and this is just the start of a watch series, which will last at H2O for many years. We started working on case ideas already for the next year and every single H2O ORCA could be upgraded with new case as the connection between the inner & outer cases will remain unchanged. Of course this will limit us as well, because the position of the crown is fixed. New watches will have at least 44mm diameter. But we are no kids anymore, aren´t we! :-)

Check out these grey dial mock ups Clemens posted on WUS. Though i almsot always prefer Black dials, I'm really excited about this grey...especially if it will come with a matching grey date wheel.
