Hi Seiko Lovers,

I wanted to share my new watch with you. It's a SBGC001.
I used to own a SPS003 but sold it off after I found my current one. Have always adored Seiko for its engineering and quality offerings, anyway here are some pictures I took, enjoy.

Good to hear :)

I have owned lots of watches, many from other makers (that cost a heap more than a Grand Seiko), but I have never owned anything engineered like a Grand Seiko.

I love them, took me a long time to realize who the best watch maker is in the world, not by just a token name and media blitz sporting endorsements LOL.

When I really get some coin I'd love to have a Credor http://www.seikospringdrive.com/sonnerie/

I'd love to own a spring drive someday myself.

This was my last watch before the current GS. It was a Spring Drive SPS003 (I really enjoyed this watch) the time keeping was amazing, in 6 months it only gained 7 seconds. To me that was unbelievable !

I only have the Monster, which I got about a month ago, but I'm enjoying it very much.

The spring drive is nice but out of my league, for now at least.

that GS is stunning :c and that SPS003 is really something. i read an old post recently on WUS that said it was gaining 1/4 sec per day. pretty damn accurate IMO

i'll own one someday- after the kids are in college, i've struck gold/oil in my backyard and won the lottery :% a boy can dream right? considering i could sell both our daily driver cars and just be able to swing a SBGE001 (my favorite) i'll have to wait a while.
:o

Thanks mate (and to everyone else too!) such a friendly forum.

I want to post some better quality pics, I guess instead of using the upload function here I should be putting them up on Image Shack or something then posting the URL? (be kind I am not a computer person LOL *I think that means "Lets Orientate Lesbians"*)

Another, next to one of my fathers custom knives, thought it a nice back drop.

This is my old SPS003 as a comparison, not as nicely finished and less detail etc... but it was still a real nice watch. Very big and very very heavy! (def not for people with small arms etc)

I'm with a couple of you. I'd like to get one some day. As soon as I find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...

The thing that cant come across in the photo's is the way it wears, you really don't notice the watch on your hand (it's that good). A camera can't do justice to how great the detail is in terms of light capture of the watch, someone spent allot of time designing all of the elements, the champagne color of the dial, the markers, the hands, curvature of the sapphire crystal, the pushers, locking collars, the crown, its just a full on work of art.

Grand Seiko really is on another level over the Spring Drive range (which is very high! *better than most costing twice as much!*), its not until you see one in your hands and wear it for a little bit that you can fully appreciate it. This watch is so well made it will last more like 1000 years rather than the 100 years Seiko Japan told me in an E-Mail.

If anyone ever gets to opportunity to buy a Grand Seiko, grab it with both hands! still not really known or appreciated with Western/European attitudes and status ego wars, leave them to the worship of inferior watches that cost much more (irony?) and honestly you wont ever miss the hype of the others, nor the poor build quality, or rubbish time keeping LOL.

Seiko for life :l
