Between my family and my job, I don't have time to be bored! If I have downtime, I appreciate it and play with my kids, ride my moutain bike, kick back on the back porch, watch a movie, hang with my pups, meet a friend for a hike or a drink :)
I do sometimes feel down often due to my work and admittedly due to potential tension with my wife (yeah, it happens :) ), I'll go for a drink, I'll go ride my mountain bike, go somewhere with my pups, vent over a drink with a good buddy and when possible go volunteer, it puts things in perspective!:)

I'll either watch a movie, work on some of my costume stuff (don't laugh, but I do hit the sci-fi cons, usually in costume), or I'll partake in my other fave hobby...

Something about exploding things being soothing... :)

Dont you have something with a picture? Maybe of a former G4 personality, that might suggest something to do?

I try to keep myself busy and avoid depression if at all possible-till the credit card statement comes!

Ok, in all seriousness, I was seriously (read: psych analysis recommended I admit mysel) depressed at one time in my life. Clinically so, but i couldnt afford it. I was a broke-butt grad student.

What did I do?

Get a book, the one with the worksheets, the book named "feeling good". Work it with all your effort, and honesty. I swear, they key to depression is your inner voice, and nothing else. No one or circumstance can depress you when you control your inner voice. This book taught me this stuff in 1991, and it has never failed me, even though i dont work at it anymore.

With boredom, its gotta be because you are depressed. If its not, go read a book or do anything. Examine grass growing, and it occupy your mind.

Good luck!

Rob

I race like a wild injun across the fields on the back of one of my horses...

...and then there is the always popular retail therapy.

In nice weather..... I take a quick drive on some of my faviorite roads with the top down. In the spring and fall (in the northeast) it's perfict "sun therapy" in the summer you just need to drive faster to keep cool.

Winter, I hibernate in my shop, playing on the wood lathe or tinkering with an old watch.
