It’s getting warmer.  That means it’s time to lay in the hammock out back w/ a Summer Shandy and read a good book.  After working my way through the Millennium Trilogy (Girl w/ Dragon Tattoo, etc…), I picked up Kingpin (a true story about a hacker who takes over the criminal credit card/ID theft underground) and finished it this weekend.

It’s time to reload the Kindle.  What have you folks recently read?  Anything good?

Right now I'm working my way through all the Sherlock Holmes stories.

Just felt like reading them.

Next up, “A Covert Affair: Julia Child and Paul Child in the OSS.”

Yes it's THAT Julia Child.

Never new she worked with the OSS during WWII.

Should be interesting.

On my Kindle on my Blackberry Torch I have been plowing through books lately. I think this Kindle thing makes it SO SO much easier to read books, without ever having to go out and purchase the actual book. I love it.

Recent Recent Finished Reads on my Kindle

The Protege
The Chairman
The Power Broker
The Successor
The Fourth Order - currently reading this one

Books by John Brisham

Recently finished "LIFE" by Keith Richards, an excellent read and well written.

Now reading "ELECTRIC BARRACUDA" by Tim Dorsey, one of my favorite authors. Laugh out loud funny, at times. Easy, fun read.

Next up, "STAR ISLAND" by Carl Hiaasen, another favorite author. Always a great comedic-mystery.

I love to read but haven't really had a chance lately to do much which bums me out. The last one I finished several weeks ago was 'Tories: Fighting for the King in America's First Civil War' by Thomas B. Allen. The next one I plan is the third book in the acclaimed Teddy Roosevelt biography trilogy 'Colonel Roosevelt' by Edmund Morris. If you are in any way interested in T.R. or want to read one of the best biographies written read the first two books 'The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt' and 'Theodore Rex'. Its a lot of reading but well worth it.

My wife and I are big readers.  She has a Panadigital eReader, and she has a huge collection of books that she's reading.  There are 3 people at work that have the readers and they share the books they are reading.  I am reading Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol" right now.  I also read almost everything James Patterson writes...especially his Alex Cross series....those I have read all of them.  My wife and I also read Sue Graftons Kinsey Milhone series...and Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series....and Diane Mott Davidson's Goldy Schulz murder mysteries....last one we read was called "Sweet Revenge." Our favorites are the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series of novels.  Last one we read....well..listened to...was Finger Licking Fifteen.  I have Sizzling Sixteen on order to listen to before Smokin' Seventeen comes out in June!!!

I also read several watch magazines....Golf Digest....Sports Illustrated....Texas Parks and Wildlife...and other magazines.
