Just outside of Munich is engineer Nicholas Spinner’s small watch firm, UTS. Despite his geographical distance from Switzerland, Spinner has spent many years consulting the watch industry on the manufacture of cases and other watch components. A lover of watches and an expert in the use of CNC machining tools, Spinner decided to start his very own watch firm over a decade ago. Characterized by large, robust diver’s timepieces in stainless steel, his firm offers impressive original designs and incredible water resistance.  UTS makes all of its cases in-house from a single block of stainless steel, with each part milled individually in Spinner’s workshop, and though Spinner’s expertise is in the engineering and manufacture of cases, all UTS models are powered by high-quality Swiss-made ETA mechanical movements.
