I wanted to share this misfortune with all of you here. My father and I were at a big show in Indy this weekend and were doing pretty good. My watch sales were the best ever. At the close of business on Saturday we went to fuel up our truck at a station right across from the state fair grounds at Indy. While I was in the station pre paying for the fuel and waiting for whatever we had left over. My father was out pumping gas. Someone snuck in through my unlocked passenger side door and stole our brief case loaded with all our paperwork. Thousands in cash, our company check book, some new expensive items my father had just purchased etc. The hell of it was at about the same time this theft happened a police officer was on patrol and doing a drive through at the station. When we put in the call to the police this officer rushed back and even he could not believe this happened right under all of our noses.

This has been quite a lil set back for our modest business. So no matter how safe you think your items are. When your on the road always lock your doors etc no matter where you are or what you are doing.

Those bastards are bazin and can move fast.  Why??  They've got nothin to lose and everything to gain.  My wife used to think I was crazy when I'd lock the car doors to get gas.  She doesn't anymore.  Hope they catch this prick Thomas.  If not, he'll get his sooner or later, but he will get his.  Lesson learned for you .......... the hard way.  Sorry about that Bro.

Sorry to hear that...!!!  Rat bas&%^$ds!!!!  Scum of the earth I tell you!!!!!

I don't let my wife fill up our tank just because of that reason....a lot of thefts here in Houston happen to women when they are filling up...they open up the passanger door and snatch their purses!!!  I only fill up at places that allow you to Pay at the Pump....and only places I know....usually the Sam's Club.  They have a guard on duty and it's monitored with cameras above every pump.

The worse loss is not so much the money as it is the records as now our book inventory is screwed up. Our primary business at the shows is actually books believe it or not. Most we don't sell online at this time. We usually carry 700 to 1000 books with us to each show. So not knowing what we need and what we don't is a real issue. I believe we are going to go through everything after our show this week in St Charles MO. To try and see if we can get a handle on it. My father personally feels like he was violated.
