The Trick or Treat fishun edition.

Decided to wet a line today before winter arrives. Yes winter comes to my neighborhood here in sunny Arizona. My neighbor Jeff and I decided we were going to try a lake we've never been to before. Everything we've read made this lake more intriguing. PDF here

At 8am when we left is was a beautiful 54* day here in town, about 50-60 minutes we arrive at our destination - sort of. We knew we were in for a hike of a half to three quarters of a mile, never figured this is what we were getting ourselves into.

I'm too old for this S _ _ T!

I hope you all enjoy the pix and vids, this is a very scenic area where I live surrounded by Apache, Coconino & Tonto National Forest, most of this area is considered Primitave Wilderness Area by the Bureau of Land Management.

Goin down to the Fishun Hole

The surrounding terrain near the lake, which was about a 50 minutes walk downhill.

Chevelon Canyon Lake

The spillway

My Video from around 11am today at Chevelon Canyon Lake

What goes down, must go up

Oh for a mule, my fishing gear taking a rest

Upon our arrival at the vehicle we turned on the GPS and figured our descent was about 900ft at a 7% grade or better. Once we hydrates we went down the road a bit to Bear Canyon Lake.

The wind subsided long enough to take this video before beating us again.

As I mentioned in the first video 30-40 mph winds, I was wrong, sustained at 46 gusting to over 60mph. Trying to cast a 1-2inch lure into the wind was futile. My neighbor is 300lbs, and twice while in the process of casting the wind knocked him down, once depositing half his torso into the cool Chevelon Canyon lake.

Fish caught, I caught 3, between the 2 lakes, all smaller than a hotdog (trouser trout), neighbor none.

The objective of fishin is not if or how many you catch, but to enjoy the experience. Here's 2 from previous outings. Ya might need a bigger frying pan.

Heading 2 the Fishin Hole - Some one say Prime Rib for supper?

You know guys, you have to keep in mind that fishing is like sex, it's all good, and get's better from there. My dad had to always remind me of that when I would be bitchin about no fish. He was a smart man!! Good pics from you guys, and now you have my fishing bug irritated and he's making me itch real bad!!
:b:b:b
