Good day all,

My watch has been out of commission due to the watch band broke for a while now and its about damn time I resolve that! :)  It's a Movado Sport Edition Chronograph (0604832).  I've talked to some watch sellers and they say i need a Movado specific strap and would could $100 more more.  Is this true as that sound kinda high?  If not, can any one suggest a good place to get a new watch band for it??  My wrist has been very neiked without it and i really don't have another to wear right now.  That will change shortly but in the mean time i would like to get my Movado back :D

Any suggestions??

Btw - I really like this site and visit it daily!  Getting  some great info and new objects of desire!!:b

Thanks,
Craig

It looks like that watch has very unique end links on the bracelet. Movado "may" be your only option. $100 bucks isnt a bad price for an authentic bracelet. Rolex charges over 1000.00 for some of their Stainless Steel ones...

This one?

If yes it looks like a unique custom bracelet for the model. Can you post some pictures of your watch and how the bracelet attaches to the case please?

AND - Welcome to Watch Freeks. Great to meet you.

Anything can be made.

I'm sure a custom strapmaker could fix you up with something.

Gonna cost more than $100 though.

It looks like you're kinda stuck with the OEM solution. :b

Just sayin'

I think a 100.00 is fair if its an original band.....I've paid more in the past.

Movado's sport watches all have funky lugs. i am looking at a Series 800 and the bracelet version and the rubba strap version have different lug configs so you can't just buy the bracelet version and order a rubba strap (which is exceedingly comfortable) :o

Shoot...when I had my Tag...I needed 3 links so the darn thing would fit my ginormous wrist...cost me well over $100 just for the links!!!!

My Movado was on a leather strap....and of course it had to be replaced....the original strap didn't even go around my wrist!!!:%:%:%:%

I guess back in the 1980's they didn't think people had wrist that were almost 9"!!!

to send me a new one.

I have a leather strap, the Hirsch Riva, that I love, and with shipping, a leather strap, mind you, I paid $70. For another $30 you can get an authentic Movado metal band, I say pay the 100 beans.

Thanks but the only wrist band that fits is made by Movado
& is black rubber with a deployment clasp.

Hello...I'm new to this website and really don't know much about chat sites like this to know if I should or shouldn't reply to an old posting or not.

Anyway, I understand your dilemma with replacing the strap on your SE Movado.  I had to do that about 2 years ago and it cost me $280 directly from Movado.  I couldn't believe my ears when they told me how much it was going to cost me to replace a black rubber strap!  I searched everywhere for about a year, but ended up having to fork over the money because I couldn't find it and I didn't want to have my watch sitting in a drawer forever.

I think there might have been a manufacturer flaw on those Sports SE watches because I met two people at previous jobs who told me their Movado SE straps had broken at the same position as mine.

Hope you got it fixed by now...

Just saw this post and had to sign up and reply, I found my replacement band at watchbands.com. I tore the metal one up so bad Movado refused to change the battery for me(consequently this is my only movado) but I found the rubber strap with the se link accents and deployant clasp there. $120+ shipping. Hope this helps.
