Hi to all at watchfreeks! I'm hoping someone can help me date my Movado watch which I'm considering selling and would like the information to pass on to any potential buyers. The serial number on the watch is 3421, I'm guessing it's a 1940's watch but would love to know for sure. Any help on this is much appreciated.
Thanks Tinknocker, unfortunately I've been toldthey're not too helpfull on watches that have not been bought directly from one of their retailers and they will or can not give information based on serial numbers. I've checked their website with no luck so hoping to get this information from elsewhere.
I would call Movado directly,
Since its a vintage watch most would have not been bought retail now anyways.
They might have books or catalogs too.
Check ebay for vintage Movado catalogs.
Member Crotchhasteeth (yes that's his screen name) real name Rod is very good at identifying this stuff.
You can pm him, or he usually signs on middle of night and might see this and post some info if he has it.
I got a MOVADO watch on E Bay. These are the numbers on the back:
87-E4-0834 and 9461303.
I would like to know what size band I am looking to put on it- i.e.the size of the lugs
THANKS for your help
I have exactly the same model that I inherited from my father. Movado in Geneva have advised me that it was manufactured circa 1925. It has been valued by a local auctioneer at approx GBP £150 - 200.
