Just pulled the trigger on an Orange Mako today.
Also recently got a Vintage power reserve and a Bambino.

I have heard some slight negativity regarding the bracelet quality on the lower end watches.

Anyone find issues with the Mako bracelets?
I do see that the links are solid, anyway.

Thanks!

no problems

I have had the 46mm E75001m for several months now with no problems. There is a post today by phottomatt regarding an orange Orient

For the price the Mako is available for I wonder what people actually want out of the bracelet. haha !!
Nip up tight, the hollow end links if there's any rattle and you'll be good to go, honestly....

The bracelet is actually good except for the folded endlinks. The clasp is average but it's a $100 watch - what do you expect? I'd go so far as to say the Mako is the best value mechanical watch I've ever owned, and on a rubber strap is straight up excellent. I'm going to get another.

Congratulations on a great purchase.

Phottomatt:

Will your (hopefully still-wrapped) bracelet fit the Orient Ray? If so, I'd be interested.

I have found the bracelet to serviceable for the money. I would much rather Orient scrimp a little on the bracelet than on the watch it's self. I have 2 Mako's and prefer mine on a leather, I also have a blue Obris Morgan rubber strap in the post the Mako Pepsi.

For the price point Orient are the best automatics in the universe.
I honestly don't know how the manage it for the money.

I agree. A jeweler wanted to sell me a previously owned Rolex for $3,200. Hell, I could have bought a dozen or more Orients for that amount!

What's all this hooplah bout Orient bracelets?
I admitted that folded end links weren't anything
to brag to Maw about. They rattle? Never heard an
Orient bracelet I owned, rattle.
I know solid end links are tha cat's meow. But for
what I paid for them, (the B M, the B M XL, the tan
Orient Flight), ain't exactly in a mood to file a Class
Action suit against Orient for substandard components

Let sleep'n dawgs lie!!!!

I'd agree to all the previous comments too, bracelet is not too bad at all perfectly wearable and looks nice as well.
I think the problem is that the actual watch itself is very good and probably does deserve a better one, good news is these look great on a wide variety of straps from rubber to leather to nato/zulu , and the bracelet is pretty easy to remove and reinstall too.
All in all these are great value for money:)

Put it on mesh like I did my Blue Ray, improves the looks, is easy to adjust the size, and is very comfortable.
