Default Glycine at Jomashop!

You guys catch wind of the HUGE discounts on Glycine watches at Jomashop? Great for anyone in the market, not so much for anyone trying to sell one though!

I wouldn't buy anything from them. Well, maybe a Glycine... If they gave me all of the packaging.

After Invicta bought them out they are stained with the "Invicta" mystique of crappy watches.

Better to purchase these watches now (which are solid Swiss watches) being sold for under $300 in some cases, then to wait till Invicta comes out with the "new and improved" Glycine 50mm cased "Grand Venom Subaqua Behemoth" monstrosity fueled with a cheapo Chinese movement.

I'm sure every Russian Mafia member, and every low life gangbanger will be sporting these abominations in the near future.

I've got 4 Glycine watches and love them all... I'm thinking of buying a couple more while they're still housed with decorated ETA movements and retain the original design... No Invicta style behemoth watches for me!

Invicta makes over 3000 different models every year. More than enough to keep Eyal and the Invicta folks busy. How do you know that they won't just let Glycine do their own thing.
Folks like you should just be happy that IWG saved Glycine from being extinct. And lowered the prices in the process.

I'm happy about the lower prices to some extent, but I definitely see Invica's influence in some of their more recent designs... I don't like it.
That said... Even years ago Glycine made a few bombs, their triple dial watches in particular. Yikes!

Their prices dropped since they now have the taint of Invicta smeared on their brand.

Invicta isn't the epitome of quality in the watch world, and you know it.

Some of their products aren't bad, but quality control is a crap shoot at whatever back alley operation in Shanghai that pumps out these clunkers.

I have owned a couple of them, not bad for a throw aways, other then that zero!

As far as my Breitling, it's nice to sport a HIGH QUALITY wrist watch on my wrist that is the ultimate high end grab-n-go.

Look Chaz, I'd prefer not to argue with you. I once considered us friends. But the top quote has you sounding more and more like Koimaster. Meaning that if you don't have at least 2k on your wrist, than you're nothing.
You're second quote makes a little more sense as you're coming back to reality. Fact is, not all of us have 2k to blow at a casino as you mentioned in another thread. But we still like to wear nice styles and original designs for say $200 instead of 2k. I have other hobbies where my money is also spent. Watches, If it keeps good time and looks good in MY eyes. Than I don't care what anyone else thinks. You have visited the WRUW thread from time to time. About 10 to 20% of that thread are Invicta's everyday. Problem is, none of the owners have enough stones to come out from under their rocks and speak up for the brand for being what it is. A cheap solid watch. I have 16 of them. Not a single problem with any of them. No badly threaded crowns, no hands falling off and every movement I ordered is what I received. The Reserves I own containing Ronda movements are some of the best watches I own. Particularly the ones with the 8040B or 8040N that have retrograde days and XL dates. Perfect for older peepers.
I bought mine long before the crash of 2017 after the new Swiss rules were enforced. Most of them are "Swiss Made". Say what you want about where you think they were really made. But until you have some solid proof. They are Swiss Made as far as I'm concerned with Swiss movements beating at their hearts. Been through this subject with Koimaster and andrema as you well know. Still no counterfeiting conviction that I've heard of. And most are built better than you give them credit for. How can you speak about their quality if you only owned two. You, like everyone else, just listen to what everyone else says. The new rules have forced Eyal to take cover in China. He even admitted it on national TV. I will not be buying anymore of the cheap Chinese watches anytime soon. Or anything that has an ISA movement within. But, they are still using Valjoux and Sellita movements and are building special editions in the Sellita factory and could use the Glycine factory in a pinch.
You claim to have an 8 1/4" wrist. Same as mine. But you can't rock a 52mm ? I can all day. Personal preference ? If so, don't go saying crap like low life gang bangers, Russian mafia etc etc. You just don't like to wear them. So own it.
Design wise, like I said, they build over 3000 different models every year. I mean, WHO else does that ? You may hate hate 95% of them. But there has to be a few that you think are cool or interesting. But hey, if its not your gig then take a pass.
I just recently bought a Grand Scuba (Tuna homage) which I will post tonight. Very well built with the Quasi-Seiko TMI NH35A but a way better solid link scissors clasp bracelet. Like it every bit as much as my Baby Tuna for 2 bills less.
And last but not least. Your Breitling. Much like you hate Invicta's, I hate that watch. I just think that with all of the other automatics in the 3k price range. You could have done SO much better than a gussied up ETA thermo-compensated Super Quartz. But if High quality grab and go is what you wanted. You certainly paid for it. So enjoy it. Not another word.
Although we are both Bulova fans and we both know you could have got the same grab and go high quality performance specifications with a smooth sweeping second hand from a 262kHz for $2850 less.

Sorry that was uncalled for.

It's just that I have a rare condition that causes me to type inappropriate things if I become too emotional. When I read how your internet friendship with Chaz was dissolving over big watches and where they're made even though you both have large wrists I became overcome with sadness and my condition kicked in.

Total dipshit.... I guess I'm still pretty upset.

I actually own the Bulova you are talking about, it is a great little watch, but it doesn't look, or feel like a Breitling does, not whatsoever. It is hardly an High Quality Grab-n-Go, just crack open the case and look at the plastic retainer.

I also have quite a stable of affordable automatics, Seiko's Tisell, Borealis, Orients, so I am not a watch snob, in fact probably my most favorite all around brand is Seiko. I also own over ten Eco-Drive/Solar watches, but you don't care for those either.

It seems to be you that have a fixation with prices of watches, being just as much a snob against higher priced one's, and quartz models as some people are against affordable's.

Funny how an innocent post can get nasty with opinion. We all share a passion if not an obsession with watches here. For me, I've got about 25 watches, most of them automatics, most of them Swiss but all of them from my $99 Parnis to my $1000 plus watches have their charm or their purpose even if they don't get equal wrist time. I've only had 2 Invictas and they were great for the money.

OK... I think we're done here.
