I was wearing my Torgoen watch today and haven't seen much interest in this brand so Idid a search on the website and have posted this on an older thread also... This will be a mini-review of the watch:

This is theT-16 I purchased about 8 months ago from an EBAY seller that claims "Nobody Beats Us" for $225.

The newer models appear to all have a carbon fiber dial which perhaps has brought the price up a bit from the previous black dial model like mine. The watch came shipped in a nice padded leather Torgoen box with all the papers inside. The watch itself is very comfortable and has a low profile. Rubber strap very comfortable and well finished with Torgoen signed buckle. The large slightly domed"K1" crystal is very clear but showsa bit more reflection tha perhaps an A/R coated sapphire one. The PVD finish has proven to be durable, with no scratches to date, not even on the buckle. The case back is engraved with the Torgoen airplane logo. The lume while not as spectacular as on a Seiko Monster for example is above average in my opinion. My only complaint so far is that the large seconds hand does not line up directly on center when at the 12 O'clock position. Furthermore, it got worse after a few weeks and I discovered that it would migrate if jolted on the palm of my hand. I sent it back to Torgoen as per the warranty directions and they fixed it in about one month turnaround time. Now it doesn't move but its still not perfectly on center. I figure this must be a quartz watch quirk since typically the seconds hand never sweeps perfecly stopping on each marker. In any case I'm sure it does not affect the stop watch function. So, in short, I like the watch and I would recommend them if you like the unique styling in a quartz watch, especially if you can get a good discount on one.

Hope this helped anyone considering a Torgoen watch!

I like that one too, especially with the Orange face... Something to consider is that while the overall diameter on these watches don't hold a candle toInvictas for example, they appear larger than they are because they havelarge dials relative to the case. Whereas my 50mm Frankenmonster is larger... it actually looks smaller... It's only 40mm across the bezel.

It's all relative!

True true. but this one is really starting small. The Frankenmonster that both of us have IS 49-50mm if you include everything (case and crown, etc). This one is probably 43mm with everything. I LOVE the look of it and would buy it right away if it was 45-48mm.

It's a nice look, thanks for the review and congrats.
I personally would have a huge issue with the hand not lining up. Maybe I am just to picky or particular but anything over $200 should not have these issues.

Great looking watch and thanks for the review, keep em coming!.....I'm sure we all buy watches from time to time simply because we like the look. I know I have.....but as time changes so does our tastes in watches,

size(s)....movements...etc....and a watch like this fills that desire typically.

Remember the price point.....I don't own a true Swiss "made" or Swiss made movement watch auto or quartz with PVD coating thatI bought new for that price. With that said....the issue youhad has nothing to do with the quartz movement IMHO. It’s a QC issue that can happen with a watch at this price point level ....again IMHO. It’s nice to know they made good on the watch.....wear it well!

Have a blessed day

:BE

I was really glad to see this review, with the exception of the problem that you had with it. Glad to see that they have good after sales service, as this is a problem with some companies.

The reason that I'm glad to see this review is that I'm waiting for one as we speak! I happened to see this watch on Youtube and I fell in love with it! I just love the looks of the watch, and after the young man reviewed it (listed as Torgoen T16), I was sold. I looked in the usual places and could not find it for under $365.00, and that was the black model like yours, the carbon black was more. I finally found one for $295.00 at Watchismo. Like someone else said, sometimes you just fall for the looks of a watch!

I had never heard of a Torgoen watch and I have found very few people who have. I actually prefer the plain black look to the carbon look, so the T16301 is great for me. I am anxiously awaiting this watch, and again, thanks for the review. :c

Guys, I have this watch, you only need to search on the internet for how to fix the hands not lining up. It's a case of pulling the winder out slightly and pressing a combination of the two buttons. Mine didn't line up after about 1 month, I waited six months of getting pissed off before deciding to send it back. However just before I sent it someone at work fixed it in about a minute including the time it took them to google how to fix it. Relatively common issue apparently across all watch brands, hence all movements can be fixed in a similar manner. If Torgoen took a month to do this then they were taking the piss. Now I can fix the issue should it reoccur (it hasn't yet 4 months on) I have had no problems with this day to day watch.

Risen from the dead.

But yes, an easy fix. I learned myself from youtube. The bonehead at a local "watch repair" place told me I had to send it back in where they would have to take it apart.
