Default Deal Gone Very Bad with Don Conn aka DCJ

I purchased a Kadloo watch from Don Conn aka DCJ in early March, he shipped it UPS and it arrived damaged.

Don was less than willing to deal with the problem and told me not to contact him anymore and take up the damage with UPS.

I filed a claim with UPS and returned the damaged watch to UPS and they in turn shipped it back to his local UPS Store, I was told today Don picked up the watch on 4/4 or 4/5/2014 along with paperwork to file the claim or release the claim to me. He told the UPS Store where he shipped it he was not filing a claim.

On 4/4/2014 I was told by UPS it is not my responsibility to report damage but the shipper Don.

I sent Don an email requesting a full refund 4/4/2014, but given his attitude from a month ago I don't expect he will.

I did file a claim with paypal but they ruled in his favor, would not refund my payment, and did not explain why the claim was denied.

Don has not filed the required paperwork with UPS, has not returned my emails, or refunded my payment.

I have all email communications with Don that I am willing to share as well as Paypal communications.

My advice to members is think twice about dealing with Don.

UPS is currently looking into the matter but so far there is nothing to report.

Thanks
Dan

Sounds like he has an an appropriate handle, anyway. Is Don Con a member on any of the forums?

I hate hearing things like this. We have a great community going and someone has to ruin it for the rest.

Without passing judgement, I notice he has not posted here in a while now.

I hope you can get things worked out Dan.

I'd like to know why Paypal didn't back you. Do they know he has the watch?

Did you call them or just put in a dispute. I would call them and get an explanation as to why you have to pay when he has the watch.

I would email Paypal back again at this point, provide them with tracking number from shipping it back and that it is in his possession and to refund you the money.

If paid by CC through PP, dispute the charge via your CC company.

I always pay this way, knowing PP's guarantee is BS.

That's unfortunate your purchase was less than satisfactory. I bought my H2O from him around that same time. Glad everything arrived safely to me. I will say that his communication during shipping was less than desirable. I had to ask for tracking which he responded that he shipped the day before and its on its way. I'd call Paypal till you get a satisfactory answer from them.

I hope you can get things worked out Dan.

Not since I asked him for a return address which he refused to provide.

Dan - Just curious, how was it damaged? Was it broken when it arrived?

That was my experience as well, he originally said he would ship USPS Priority, then shipped several days later (there was a weekend involved) but I paid early Friday.

Also had to ask for tracking.

Maybe UPS did damage it...but, if that were the case, my question is why ain't Don Con being more helpful in resolving the issue?
