Default Whisky?

I'm into single malts but not into the very peaty ones. I'm more into the 'mellow' varieties. Like this one I discovered recently, Very, very sweet!

One of my faves is Aberlour A'Bunadh, Aberlour's cask strength whiskey. It's very rich and flavorful. A bourbon drinking friend of mine usually dislikes Scotch and refers to them as "stump water," but I turned him onto this one and he actually likes it. Retails in my area for $70-$80. It's 120 proof, so if you prefer it neat, sip it veeeeeery slowly.

The Caribbean cask is one of my new favorites. I have moved away from scotches over the past few years, but that one is just soo good!

I'll have to try it, but the single malts i've tried just don't do it for me. I'm no connoisseur but love my Scotch.

I use to like Johney Walker Black quit a bit.
When I woke up in the hospital afer passing out for 12 hours with 3 iv's; a catheter; and put on a machine to keep me breathing I finally "Woke Up" and quit. I checked myself in a state rehab center for 33 days. My family was very supportave also. That was 8+1/2 years ago.
Nothing wrong with a person haveing a few drinks, I cant control it though.

Oh snap. Wrong whiskey. I'm partial to Woodford Reserve but very much enjoyed the Knob Creek I just finished. Russell's Reserve is another favorite of mine. Father/son team w/over 80yrs experience between them. They're also Wild Turkey's Master Distillers

I'm a big Knob Creek fan, and Woodford is pretty great too.

I just finished some WL Weller 12 year which is pretty much a younger version of the Pappy Van Winkle Reserve (same starting batch/barrels, just aged younger). Really great stuff, but hard to come by now that they are a little better known.

I'm usually a craft beer drinker. But on the rare occasion I want something a bit stronger, I pull out my go to: Jameson 12 year. Always neat on whiskey stones.

Love the Caribbean Cask Balvenie. The 15 year isn't half bad either.

I gotta say though, Glenmorangie really does it for me. Their Private Editions just DO NOT MISS! Always unique but never too far over the top. If you ever get a chance to grab a bottle of the Ealanta, snatch it up! The newest, Companta, is great too with a Sherry overtone that doesn't take over the flavor of the whisky but adds to it.

Cheers

It is pricey, but worth it ($21 a 4pack around me). Definitely one of the best Belgian pales out there. If you enjoy Duvel or Unibroue Blanche de Chambly, you will love Tremens.

Woodford is one of my favourites too. I also bought a bottle of Weller Old Antique 107. This I still have to try.
