Update: I bought a bottle of Rittenhouse Straight Rye 100 proof and all I can say is: WOW! It needs an ice cube or some drops of H2O because it packs a punch but I can see myself sipping this on my balcony when the temperature goes up. Accompanied by a fine Cuban and some hard, matured cheese. Dang, how I love life!

It doesn't get much better than that. You just took me on a mini vacation. Thanks for the trip

Actually, it GETS better In May I expect the delivery of two new watches. So picture this: I'm in my hammock (yes, I can hook up a large hammock on my balcony), sippin' on my Rye and puffing my stogie when Anne tells me a package has been delivered. Lo and behold, it's my Helberg CH8! I open the cardboard box and take out the Peli case. And there it is: the CH8. So yes, it can get better

I love the Balvenie but my new favorite whiskey is Angel's Envy Finished Rye. Like the Balvenie it's aged in Rum casks. A beautiful mix of bourbon and rum flavors

It's 7:54 in the morning and I'm up posting on WF with a nasty hangover from last night, caused by a bottle of Bulleit Rye, and lo and behold this thread shows up. It's as if the gods are mocking my predicament.

I have a sweet spot for Macallan 18's, especially when I'm smoking cigars:

Had some Booker's last weekend during the game. Very good stuff!!!!

Kind of a cinnamon palate with a nice hot finish.

Booker's is world class. It definitely has to be sipped though. Barrel strength, 126ish proof, it is some serious stuff.

My oldest son who is a real whiskey conuisour tells me the best, ever, is Pappy Van Winkle hard to obtain, and around $400 a bottle when you do.
