Default Waterproof Leather Straps

I've got a couple of leather straps that claim to be and are stamped "waterproof leather" and I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the actual validity of the claim.

Leather by it's nature is not particularly water resistant so if these straps are indeed waterproof how is this feat accomplished as in how are they treated/conditioned to resist water.

Are they even waterproof at all?
My wife always laughs during sex, no matter what she's reading.

I think they're more like water resistant. Acrylic water repellent finish can be applied on leather straps and it will not absorb water. Finish may wear off overtime but you can always reapply it

If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that anything can be anything.
So, yeah, probably.

Leather can be water proof? Since when?
Like saying Duroc hogs can fly!!!
I'll believe a leather strap can be water proof when I see one.
W R? Maybe! Kinda sorta.
