Are Tauchmeister watches any good,I'm talking about their whole line? I don't have any one model in mind.

Are they even German?

"GERMASIAN" is the term you're looking for. They claim to be made in Germany and perhaps they are assembled and marketed from there but they typically source the cases and movements from China. Sometimes they'll use Japanese or Swiss quartz movements if not Chinese automatics... There are some other "Made in Germany" brands that do the same... Aeromatic 1912 for example...:whatever:

i have 2 different models. One is a "vintage looking" russian diver. the other is a more modern U boat look alike russian diver.
Both watches work great.
They are made in china. One of my watches sports a Sea gull GMT auto movement, and the other has a Miyota {citizen} 8215 auto movement.

I love the watches.
My only gripes about them are as follows.

1 of the watches has a faux old bronze plated finish on it, that will turn your wrist green , and make you break out. I have since then , buffed off all of the bronze plating, to reveal a very nice looking steel watch case.

Niether Tauchmeister had decent glow in the dark lume. I have since then, re lumed both watches.

The Tauchmeisters i got came with leather bands that looked great , but if you sweat at all, they eventually melt apart. So i have since replaced the crap leather with Full grain leather bands.

But all in all, for the price, they were worth it.

Default they are not just good, they are the best in class.

Probably German or Japanese movement but for sure not Chinese at all!

I have the t0014n model for 4 years which is extremely accurate and used almost daily in swimming pool and few times skin diving at sea during summer.

For what you pay is worth every penny.
I will order soon the leather replacement which costs around 19 euros due to over-wear

As for the Aeromatic brand which was in the previous reply, I believe it's the same manufacturer with two different label cause the tauchmeister's aluminuin case has also Aeromatic label on it.

Wow, another thread resurrection.

Only owned one Tauchmeister but found it to be of good quality, fit and finish and a good timekeeper. Great bang for the buck, better than Invica. One of the ones I wish I had not flipped.

Not German....Not Japanese. Definitely Chinese. Nothing wrong with being Chinese. It is what it is.

Wow, talk about resurrection A zombie thread for sure. The only German movements I know of certainly aren't used in inexpensive watches like these I'm affraid. But for the money you can't go wrong. In their quartz models they use Ronda movements.

@GoodWatch, @FOUR

Thanks for reply and yes indeed I was checking and noticed many quartz movements used in Tauchmeisters's shows "movement brand" being RONDA

After few research RONDA is not Chinese, it's Swiss

FULL Answer via link: http://www.ask.com/beauty-fashion/sw...3e7b7d06450108

FYI:

.CH domain doesn't refer to CHina, it is Switzerland, to avoid any further confusion.

Watch is great and can't get better with what you pay being a Swiss Movement in it.

I am waiting on a Tauchmeister t0077. I'm told it id an auto GMT. I'm not sure that it is or not. It seems to be all over the map on what movements are in them. I'm hoping it is an auto, even if it's Chinese. Any help?

Watch had a cheesy plating. Buff it off. Voila! A better appearing watch.
Almost zero lume? Relume it to suit your criteria.

That's what I call being crafty and moxey at the same time Bro.
Congrats. Only dealer I've seen that sells Tauchmeister and Aeromatic
is Marc at L I watches.

I got my Tauchmeister and it is all 309 stainless steel and it had a Miyota movement. It also has good lume and a nice look. Made in China, probably. It has a 24 hour hand on the lower part of the dial, not a GMT. It wears very nice and for a 47mm watch it is not that big.
