Default What do you think of this idea?

I want to bounce an idea off all of you. This is a bit long winded and may be hard to follow. If you remember our 1st gen MM01 watch model it will make this easier to follow.

We have an idea to add one additional dial design for our Project X.

I don't know why we did not think of it sooner. The size, quality and fact that our Project X has a 9015 auto movement is actually now giving us what we really wanted in our very first MM0 watches.

A number of people also thought we should have had our logo on the upcoming versions but we decided not to.

What if we did an updated version of our original MM01 dial. It would use the new hands and give us the date wheel with the black ground that we always wanted but did not get. Many people had wanted a version of our original with auto movements, better lume, and the date wheel with the black background with white numbers.

We would most likely move the date window to the 3 O'clock but might not. Not sure on that yet.

We will get rid of the tachy ring and use a better quality lume and more of it.

There is also the grey cross hair from our original MM04 that I plan to try on it.

We would use the original style logo on the dial as well.

The new parts set goes back to using a signed crowned which our original MM0 did but the 2nd gen did not. So we would go back to that. Basically it's in my view taking the best ideas from the old and new and putting them together.

We would call this model the Minuteman "Classic" unless someone comes up with a better name.

I have asked for some renders using this idea.

What do you think of this idea?

Original MM01

Original MM04 not the grey cross hair.

I have asked for a render without tachy and thinking the date would end up going to the 3h.

But that could all change. =)

MM01 with gray numbers and crosshair. Red second hand and date at 3 o'clock. And of course, the original logo.

To much to ask ??? I think that design with a Miyota 9015 would be the bomb. But I know you only have so many parts you can work with. Only throwing what I'd like to see out there. Even if it isn't necessarily feasible.

Thomas:
I say "Go for it".
I just think it looks a lot like Momentum's Steelix Quartz watch.
Not a bad thing. Steelix and Torpedo models have been true pals
of mine over 3 years.
Had a DB with a 9015 Miyota. Noisy counterweight. Other'n that
a keeper.
Good luck Tom. It will sell.

What do you fine folks think of this idea? If we do something along this line on the automatic platform I believe we would call it the Minuteman "Classic"

Nice. But like I said earlier, would like to see gray numbers and crosshair. JMHO. Otherwise I'm loving it. Even on the NATO.

Oh that is the plan. People have asked over the years for an MM01 with an auto movement and with the upcoming Darby and RWB Project X platform its more doable than ever before.

At this point I think I will get rid of either the 24h numbers or the 00 to 55 numbers for a cleaner look.

The original crosshair was gray and that's really what I expected but they did not render it that way. So most likely that would be gray. I may go matte white on the numbers.

Mmm, make the original MM01 with the gray cross-hair, original logo, date wheel at "4" and the Miyota 9015 movement in a 43 mm case. You have a classic winner right there. I'll buy one...
