What is the most underrated watch that you own? Post pic(s) if you like, too.
Weigh in whatever factors you want. Its your opinion that counts. I find the H20 Orca to be the most underrated watch I own. In fact, I was looking closely at it today and that is what made me think of starting this thread. The Orca has had great reviews and lots of happy customers but I think its still the most underrated, feeling that it is an exceptional watch, really well made, wears perfectly, great lume, size, wrist presence, super easy to strap change, killer bracelet, accurate, great packaging and options, and could easily have cost much more than it did...and still been well worth it.
This watch is one of my favorites. Undeservedly underrated and and pretty much ignored in the wis community. Hamilton Seaview Auto Chrono Valjoux 7753. Sure it's only 100m WR but it's a super sporty dress 45mm piece with a unidirectional bezel. The combo brushed and polished finishes give it pizazz. Beautiful H link bracelet and let's not forget the green tinted exibition Caseback. Love it. It enjoys Keeper Emeritus Status.
I suppose I'd have to go with these. Guess they could be considered underrated because Aquadive is routinely compared to brands at much higher price points in terms of quality, attention to detail, fit and finish, and overall product offering.
Underrated. Magrette gets lots of love but this particular model the tiki seems to get less than others and I love mine a beautiful blue and very versatile.
The dagaz cav1 is my other underrated watch. Just a fantastic job on the blasting. Some of the best orange lume. I bought it when it was on sale thinking I would give it a little wrist time then flip it. But liked it much more than I thought I would. Wonderful strap watch too. Nato. Iso. Canvas. Sailcloth all look great.
Good post Nate. For me no doubt the Maranez Racha Diver. You get everything you could want in a cushion case dive watch but at a very reasonable cost. I'm not saying it is better than SAS, Benarus, etc that produce cushion case divers it just doesn't get as much love.
My most underrated is my Tuna. It does get a lot of Forum love, but I initially dismissed it. Never really wanted one until I got my hands on one, then I was hooked.
I wouldn't exactly call the Sumo "underrated", since most everyone who has ever owned one rants and raves about how great they are (to include myself).
The Dagaz CAV-1. The build quality on this little watch is outstanding, the specs are phenomenal, and the price is right. No one else seems to have made a more solid homage to the Benrus Type 1 Military (and I will put this one up against the MKII Paradive and MKII Blackwater any day of the week).
Most under rated for me is basically all of my quartz Zodiacs. Too numerous to list all here but anything built under the ZMX moniker are some of the most nicely finished and complicated watches I own.
... and though neither of these are true ZMX series watches both are built like tanks and ...
... some really nicely finished casebacks in the industry as well ...

in my current rotation, it has to be the Citizen Chrono AT Perpetual (AT4008-51E). i think the mid-line Citizens are very under rated on the forums (mostly due to the ECO-Drive). fantastic case and bracelet finishing, tremendous wrist presence (looks big, wears small) and superior technology inside.
as far as watches i no longer own, the Movado Series 800 chrono gets no love but i think it has the exact same qualities as the AT above. the ETA 251.272 was scary accurate (+1 per month), the dial was amazing and the lume was as good and long lasting as any Seiko i've owned (and there's been, *ahem*, more than a few)
I believe one of the most underrated watches in my collection is the Invicta Grand Diver I’m currently wearing. It boasts: a hacking and hand-winding NH35A automatic movement that with daily use has been good for about +6-8 secs a day in my example, along with an exhibition case back, in addition to a surprisingly good quality bracelet with solid end links and a machined fold-over clasp. These details are packaged in a watch available new for just over $100 on Amazon. To me, the tremendous bang for your buck value element of this watch is why I feel this is one of the more underrated watches in my collection:
This is the most underrated out of all the watches I've owned. I didn't like the original leather and quickly meshed it up and I have never considered playing with straps on it since.
It is a bidirectional bezel so it's not a real diver and the movement is a Seagull automatic but I never cared for movements as long as I love the watch.
Since Pallet Spoon already got Zodiac in the mix Mesh, I'm going to add in Mondia's Wave 500 here. The watch feels near invincible, looks nice, and is both a watch, and brand you don't seem to hear enough about. Definitely would be underrated. :thumb::thumb:
Probably this. They're selling pretty low on the 2nd hand market. But if you compare them to Panerai base models, you're getting a lot more for your money if you ask me. A major negative tho is the lack of support. BUT I think eventually, we'll find proper alternatives.
The most under-rated of my collection. (My Alessandro Baldieri's would run a very close second).
I think the NIXON marque has been cast aside by some as "fashion" watches. Perhaps meaning that they are all style with no substance. My experience has been that they are as solid & well made as any Seiko or Citizen. As with many other brands, NIXON uses Miyota movements in their quartz models. ETA's in their autos. Feature for feature, NIXON watches can hang with the best of the "department store brand" crowd.
Unfortunately, they ARE fashionable, trendy, popular among the surfer/skater/anti-establishment youth (at least here in Cali). This seems to have worked against the brands' "street cred" among the watch aficionados.
The LM-3 V2...Ocean7's homage to the IDF Kontiki. It's solid, nicely finished, has a Swiss movement, and is the perfect size IMO. O7 doesn't seem to be held in the same regard as some other micro brands but if you like cushion case retro styled watches this one is well built and an excellent value, especially if you can get one pre-owned in nice condition.

This Glycine F 104. I never, never, never should have sold this watch. I almost gave it away last year on another forum.
