Default FSOT: My Seiko SARG collection

For sale or trade I have my Seiko SARG collection. These are watches that I collected and customized in a several months quest. These are awesome watches that I got and then put in the watch box to keep them safe. They were all purchased used with little superficial wear in the way of airlines mostly.

They share a few specifications which I am listing here, these are the same for each one:

Automatic Seiko 6r15 movement, hacks, hand wind and has over 50 hours or power reserve.
40mm in diameter
20mm lugs
Sapphire crystal
Awesome lume

For the first 2 watches there is a second crown that rotate the ring showing the cardinal points

Otherwise the dial and hands configuration is different for each giving a different look and purpose.

Other then that I am open to offers and trades for other watches that I can maybe customize including Glycine Combat (bushed finish), certain Hamilton dress or field watches and similar.
I tried to price these fairly based on the wear and the customizations, however I am very open and will listen and answer everyone. My main interest is that these go to a good home and that I get something I can use in exchange.

Seiko SARG005

This is probably the prettiest dial of all, it is cream color but it has metallic paint that shimmers in the light, really beautiful. You cam catch a glimpse of it from one of my poor photos below. Otherwise the watch is great and I made only one change in replacing the seconds hand with one from another Seiko model.

This comes with the original bracelet that will fit about an 8” wrist.

I would like $375 including shipping and paypal fees. Always open to offers and trades.

SOLD Seiko SARG007

This is an awesome field watch, both in looks and comfort. It comes with a Seiko 5 folded bracelet, I believe originally I got it on a used leather strap that will be included. If you prefer a Nato strap instead of the bracelet I can include that. The watch is overall in excellent condition. This also got a new seconds hand, this is original MKII second hand.

I would like $375 including shipping and paypal fees. Always open to offers and trades.

SOLD

SARG11

This is a bit different from the above in that it does not have a rotating ring, it has the largest dial and a nice dome sapphire crystal. The watch is in excellent condition with only surface airlines. The original hands were hard to see with the light reflections and looked too small. I replaced these with original hands from an Orient Pilot watch.

I sourced an original bracelet for it which is included, fits about 8” wrists.

I would like $375 including shipping and paypal fees. Always open to offers and trades.

I'm confused (which isn't hard to do) but your last group of photos your SARG011 looks more like a SARG009. I have a SARG009??

You say you changed the hand set, the original hands on the SARG011 look almost exactly the same as the one's you replaced them with, other then you ditched the red tipped second hand, which to me ruined that watch's looks.

SARG009 and SARG011 are the same watch with only the seconds hand being different.

Sorry if you don't like the result but this is actually a sales post and I believe such comments are not proper.

Since the vast majority of your posts are "Sales Posts", when is commenting on sales merchandise off limits?

FORUM RULES

We are all adults here, so let’s act like it. Your opinions are welcome, but let’s respect each other. As this is "an online forum and community", everything starts and ends with how we word our posts, threads, and responses. If you post a watch and someone says "that brand sucks" .... well that's not respectable. But if you say: "very nice, but not my cup of tea", that is acceptable. You get the idea.

Read the forum rules. This is clearly spelled out to be against the rules.

Is this the Sales Rule you imply I am violating?

Quote:
3) PLEASE ONLY COMMENT IN THE SALE/TRADE THREADS IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THE SPECIFIC ITEM BEING DISPLAYED. THERE SHOULD BE NO OTHER COMMENTS ABOUT THE ITEM. Off topic comments or irrelevant comments to the specific sale will be removed from the thread. Negotiations for watch sales must be done via PM or email, away from the general forum area.

Since my Sarg009 has recently broke down and the cost of repair isn't worth the effort, I was interested in his watch, that is why I was asking questions about it, although I doubt that I will ever entertain the thought of any his offerings again.

If you guys really want to be anal about the rules, here is a really really nice Grand Seiko diver up for sale, and there are lots of comments about it, from people who obviously aren't in the current position to purchase it, me included. Should they all be chastised too?

FSO: Grand Seiko SBGX115 Diver white

Chaz, the last words in your post were "which to me ruined the watch's looks". Knock it off man. The guy is trying to sell a watch. Comments like that are uncalled for. No one cares if you don't like the watch.

Better try re-reading that post, I said he changed out the original red tipped second hand, and the red tipped seconds hand is what ruined the look of that watch (IMHO), so in other words he didn't ruin the watch, he improved it, in my opinion. The red tipped seconds hand is the main reason I bought the SARG009 instead of the SARG011, I didn't like the red tip.

The nit picking of posts here, and misconstruing the meaning is getting very extreme.

You feel that way, then don't read my posts, no one is forcing you to do that.

As far as me coming across like a "Dick", I was a Dick, a Homicide Dick in Chicago, so forgive me if I don't speak in Snowflake language, I spent 31 years dealing with the nitty gritty reality of life, and political correctness is not my forte, ever!

I spent 35 years of my life either in the Marines, Nam 65-66 Tunnel Rat, or 31 years on the Chicago Police Dept. Homicide Detective, also being the most prolific Robbery Decoy in the History of the CPD, having been robbed over 500 times. If I come off as an Alpha Male, that's because if I wasn't, I would have been killed decades ago. Try crawling down Viet Cong tunnels with nothing but a flash light, a .45 and a 20 lbs satchel charge. Try 23 years of rolling over stinking, rotting corpses checking for bullet holes and knife wounds. try standing in dark alleys pretending your drunk (500 times) and allowing some cretins to jack roll you for your watch and wallet so you could catch robbers, then get back to me!

Like I said, if you don't care for my presentation, don't read my posts.

Chaz. Your posting style is your posting style normally I don't have an issue. But there are certain things I feel are over the line. Feel like disparaging a watch in the for sale section is a bit over the line. If you want to comment positively or negatively about a watch in other sections, that's fine. But it's tough enough to sell a watch these days without negative remarks from other posters. These are all nice watches and looks like 2 of 3 sold. Carlo in my opinion does an awesome job with his mods.

I see you are yet another who has misconstrued what I posted, I questioned what model watch this was since by appearances it appeared to be a Sarg009 not a Sarg011. I noted that he had changed the dial set, although the switch out hour and minute hands looked almost exactly the same as the ones he replaced.

I then commented that he had changed out the original seconds hand which had a red tip, I commented that the red tipped hand is what ruined the look of the watch, so indeed he has improved it's looks.

How in the hell can that be construed in any shape, manner or form as disparaging of his watch??

I loved my Sarg009, unfortunately I broke it in attempts at regulating it.
