Default Citizen NAVIHAWK A-T Model: JY8030-59E (non-US)

I wanted to wait and see if the transaction was going through before posting this.

I was looking for an affordable watch with a digital feature, but I may have gotten a little carried away I ordered the Citizen NAVIHAWK A-T Model: JY8030-59E from an online retailer in UK called First Class Watches. The prices are higher than the US versions, but they allow you to make an offer (similar to ebay) and they accepted mine. Order is being shipped today and FEDEX tracking confirms it will be delivered Monday. (Wow, that was fast!)

I haven't seen this watch in person so I'm taking a little bit of a risk, but my window shopping skills haven't let me down yet. I'll provide an update after a thorough inspection.

Congrats. It is a BIG watch, fyi :-).

Macy's has the 2 tone and the all black ..just saw these last week at my mall. Really liked the black version on rubber but it's a bloody big watch for my puny 6.75" wrist :-(.

What I like on the skyhawk/navihawk is Citizen uses metal dial VS plastic that Seiko/Casio uses to let the solar light pass thru. Plastic dials give a cheap look (and hence why I sold my Seiko solar diver).

Yeah, I realized that it was bigger than some of their others. I own a Viperfish, so I'm prepared

Just delivered from the UK. I finally figured out how to set the home city and sized it. Doesn't feel like it's 48 mm and I can't imagine getting a titanium to make this any lighter. Crazy dial.

I have just under a 7 1/2" wrist.

The watch appears in perfect condition. The transaction with First Class Watches was smooth. I didn't need to contact them for anything so I can't rate their service.

I made an offer
they accepted
I paid
they shipped (quickly)

About as simple as you can get.

Congratulations Maliboo ! Glad that everything worked out so well, and the watch looks fantastic ! Really like how the bezel looks, as well as how you get this mix of aggressive, and elegant personalities with this. Beautiful bracelet, and awesome dial ! ENJOY !

Check totalwatchrepair.com and use coupon code 15off to see if you can save a few bucks on the bracelet. I have a bracelet for my wife's Victorinox on order with them right now.

Thanks brother! Checked them out...mines a 23mm titanium model. Might swing for it though. I think it may have too much contrast. What do you think? The 15% may make it doable.

Oh, I've never owned a titanium watch, but I would think a stainless steel bracelet on a titanium would be a big contrast.

Hey maliboo74 - quick question if you don't mind - what colour is the backlight on this model? I note the backlight on the black rubber strap navihawk has a really cool red light. Is it the same on this one?

P.s. Awesome looking watch by the way! I want one badly!

Also, can I ask about the digital display areas... I note they are inverted. Is it hard to see the digits?

On some photos of the watch (including some of your own above) the digits cannot be seen, where on others they look perfectly legible.

Thanks

Hi, (and welcome to the forum)

The backlight is an orange-ish color. In low light it is tough to make out the digital display, otherwise they can be read fine. Also, you have to be looking directly at the dial to make out the displays. Viewing at an angle can make it tough.
