Fed Ex from warehouse to local PO. Then watch fell into the Black Hole.

Ha ha. Oh yeah, Art. I'm feeling it already! It should ship tomorrow from Japan, and it sent express, so maybe mid next week? Barring any customs issues is suppose.

It has arrived! Attempted delivery on Monday (Super fast shipping!!!), but I wasn't there to sign, so I had to pick it up yesterday. Sorry, no unboxing video. I did take some photos with my nice camera that I'll have to post later. For now, you get the cell phone shot.

The fit and finish is incredible! The brushed top, the high polished sides, and the "S" engraved crown! The hand winding is buttery smooth! I worried a little that the case may be a bit big for my wrist, and then the 20mm lugs a bit too skinny; however, neither one of those issues panned out. I think it fits my wrist nicely, and the bracelet does not seem too thin to me. The deep blue matte finished dial is beautiful, and the hour markers really pop with the chrome boarder around them. The lume is quite bright at first, and though it fades quickly, it was still readable when I awoke this morning.

Sizing the collar and pin system proved a bit tricky, yet still doable with some watch tools I own. It's a fairly heavy watch, but not as bad as I expected, and I do believe it may be a tad lighter than my Planet Orient.

Overall, after wearing a few hours last night, and now for couple this morning, I am thoroughly impressed!

Congrats, I love it.
I have the orange Sumo and it's one of my favorites. Would like to get a blumo someday.

I think they are incredible bang for the buck. As you said the fit and finish is great on these.

Congrats! Two things you mentioned I noticed with mine as well. Crown action is probably the smoothest of all my watches, and I've come to appreciate the 20mm bracelet on this watch, as opposed to the 22mm that everybody wishes it had.

Beside the obvious beauty, that crown action really was striking. I can feel the gears connecting as I wind and it is just so damn smooth! Clearly the engineering of the teeth on the gears is so precise that they just fit together like glove. Really impressive.

Retail wise, this is my most expensive watch thus far, so is should't be too surprised of the quality compared to the rest of my collection. The exception is a Bulova I paid nearly full retail on that was just a tad more than I paid for this Sumo. The movement on that Bulova is a Miyota and quite impressive in its own right. However, the crisp feel of this 6R15 really seems superior. I'm curious to see how accurate it is over the next few days. I set it to exact time at 1825 last evening. I'll check it again tonight, and probably the next few nights. I anticipate me wearing this this a few days in a row! To date, my Bulova and my Alpha Univeral Time have been the most accurate. Both within +/- 10 seconds. really the Alpha is closer to +/- 5, and that is a $100 watch! The fit and finish; however, is $100 worthy.

the case on this Seiko appears to take some styling cues from Omega .. in particular the lugs ..

Funk, what size is your wrist? I've been thinking about one of these.

Congrats, BTW!

7.25 inches or so. That is 18.5cm or so, for you metric folks.

+15 seconds over first 2 days. +12 day one, so only + 2 day two. Not bad. I'm thinking it may normalize as it breaks in, too. I'll work on photos this weekend, or Monday since I'm off work.

The Seiko 6R15 movement is the real deal, my Blumo ended up running at about +4 or +5 seconds a day. My Sarg009, which I still own is running at -1 seconds a day.

Dare I say it, Seiko is the greatest all around watch manufacturer in the world, quality products from bottom priced models all the way up to "top dog" rivals of Patek, in their Creedor line.

Rocking Terry's ToxicCRC (Colorectal Cancer) Benefit strap.

Back on the bracelet

Yeah, I know it is upside down. My bad.

I made a video too. Not really a professional review, and it isn't an "unboxing." Just screwing around for my fellow freeks here.

Oh, man - awesome. Nice pics and video, Funk, especially for your first effort. Better than I'd have done.

Though there's a small hole in my life only an unboxing could fill.

Lol.
Thanks. Really just kinda messing around for the fun here. Try to give a little back to the group that has taught me so much!
Besides, what else would a man do on his day off?

Your video beats out about 75% of the other non-professional videos on the Tube about watches!

Nice job, nice watch, congrats!
