Arnies sell (depending on condition) from $400 all the way up to around $800. They are very popular, and getting rarer by the minute.

Here is a link to Watch Recon showing anything matching "Arnie" in the past 31 days.
http://www.watchrecon.com/?query=arnie&last_days=31

Even in rough working order they tend to fetch $200-$300 for people willing to restore them (and there are still quite a few parts available).

That isn't an "Arnie", the H558 is the "Arnie". H601's sell in the $200 to $300 range.

No, it isn't. The H558 version that has 150m written in white/silveris the watch that is referred to as the "Arnie". I own both the H558 and H601 and have researched them in the past. The H601 models are not Arnolds as they have no association with the movies.

Arnie refers to the watch that was worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Cammando". Check your facts. The digital display is at 12 instead of 6.

Here are some screen shots from the film...

Many new collectors use the term "Arnie" and "Arnold" pretty loosely. They make the mistake that just because the H601 utilizes the same case as the H558 and looks like it.

This is the real "Arnold" - Seiko H558-5000:

This H601 isn't the "Arnold":

If you want a more rare Seikosimilar sizedshrouded diver, the Seiko 7c43-6020 "Mini Tuna" is the way to go:

He has worn one...but the H601 is not the "Arnold"... Call it an "arnold" or "arnie" is you like, but it isn't.

The term relates the fact that the H558 was a favorite watch of Arnold Schwarzenegger and he wore it in "Commando" (1985) and "Predator" (1987)...not any other films. That is the genesis of the term and it relates to the H558-5000.

Either way, the H601 does not sell for as much as a H558.

I am done debating this with you, asyou are certainly convincedthat the H601 is the "Arnie". If you are a member of other forums, tryshootingGabe "Isthmus" a PM. He is generally considered an authority on Seikodive watches. The guys over at the Seiko & Citizen forum (thewatchsite) havediscussed this topic often too...

I am done debating. IMO, the H558-5000 is the only true "Arnold".

Great watch either way.

The problem is, I have looked into it and read many articles related to it and I do understand. I'm not just taking a stab in the dark from ill-informed enthusiasts at non-Seiko specific forums, I thoroughly have looked into it and sifted through all of the various misinformation that is posted at various sites. You should go to the experts and ask - Gabe is a great source for this and any Seiko diver related topics.

Sure, the H601 is referred to as an "arnie", but it really isn't truely the original - The H558 is.
